Wilkens Residence a 2,068 sq. ft single family residence was an extensive interior and exterior remodel situated in Southern California. This home was transformed from a 1950’s bungalow into a modern island style beach house. Organic materials were employed throughout the home to create a warm environment. Uniquely textured pieces were chosen to achieve a modern aesthetic. The home’s interior was redesigned to employ an open floorplan which makes this compact home feel much more spacious. All of the interior rooms now take advantage of the home’s location allowing for ample natural light and sweeping views. To further take advantage of the location and temperate climate, both the front and back of the property were transformed into living spaces. The front patio allows for outdoor dining with an ocean view while the back courtyard allows for private entertaining and relaxation. This remodel successfully created a tranquil indoor and outdoor oasis.
