The Lost Winds Residence is a 2,900 sq. ft. modern beach house located in San Clemente California. The home was designed by James Glover Residential & Interior Design with a focus on indoor/outdoor living. The idea of the architecture is to create a living space that interacts with and enhances the natural surroundings. This was achieved by site orientation, a floor plan that gave every room an ocean view with a private deck, and by the expansive use of glass and lift and slide door systems. The geometry of the architecture is deliberately softened through the selection of the building’s finish materials. We chose a palette of natural materials such as wood, stone and stucco to create an organic feel. These materials have the added benefits of being easy to maintain and help create a timeless aesthetic. This home reflects our passion for Modern Organic Architecture, balancing modern design with natural materials to create a space that looks great, feels comfy, and compliments its surroundings.
